Description
BeatiBot is an animated multi-platform story for entities interested in happiness. It was created with, for, and about artificial intelligence. Watch for five minutes as machine learning uses social media training data to generate models of happiness.
Made by Vincent McCurley, creator of the award-winning Cardboard Crash. Produced with the support of STORYHIVE.
The theme of artificial intelligence and happiness is explored across a variety of media, taking advantage of the affordances of each medium:

Synopsis
BeatiBot, the hovering AI-powered robotic assistant, makes multiple amusing attempts to interpret and deliver happiness by using social media as a dataset. Will food, money or fame lead to lasting happiness?

The interactive 6-DOF virtual reality version of BeatiBot for viewing in VR HMD headsets such as the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. Development is currently in progress.

The interactive 6-DOF augmented reality version of BeatiBot for viewing in AR headsets such as the Microsoft Hololens. Also available for ARKit and ARCore devices. Development is currently in progress.

Biographies
- Vincent McCurley
Vincent is a creator of immersive, interactive, digital media experiences. His first interactive VR vignette "Cardboard Crash" (2015), with the support of the NFB, won Webby and Digi awards, and has been shown at festivals around the world including Sundance, IDFA, and SIGGRAPH.
- Kaho Yoshida
Kaho is an animator/illustrator based in Vancouver, BC. She loves all things animation, but has a special passion for stop motion. Since graduating from Emily Carr University with an award winning grad film, she has worked on varieties of projects including stop motion TV show for kid's CBC, independent documentary films, TV commercial, NFB's VR project, music video, etc.
When she isn’t animating or drawing, which is not very often, she can be found hanging out with friends, drooling over pug videos online, and thinking of witty things to say to make her sound interesting on her bio.
